This past weekend was our first camp trip of the year. Shenandoah National Park. The weather menu included 24 hours of thick fog, a Friday night rain deluge, sun, a star-filled night and high winds. Good practice for whatever weather curveballs await during the rest of the year. Was hoping to get the teardrop more organized this weekend in preparation for the coming weekend and Memorial Week. Got a couple things done: LL Bean brass thermometer and installation of two towel bars from Cabelas from which I hang a couple jackets at night to serve as crude shades. So far the decor consists of laminated maps. I love maps. :)

It was so foggy going up Skyline Drive I was nervous to drive even 20mph for fear Bambi would suddenly appear. Thankfully, no probs and no close calls. Once at camp the fog added to the serenity.

This was also the debut of the "teardrop" license plate frame that The Knobmeister (www.knobmeister.com) made for me.

A bonus of this license plate frame is that it conceals the obnoxious "Taxation Without Representation" propaganda on DC license plates.

Gidget, meanwhile, was more interested in deer than serenity. Every boulder was a deer stand for her. And fortunately for her, several deer are fond of the area around our campsite. Two were laying next to the asphalt when we backed in.

Thank you all. Fun to share pics with this community.

I especially like the one with the "deer in the fog". That one has "blue ribbon" written all over it.

Beautiful shots hiker chick. The lush green setting is so appropriate for the color of your set up. But I almost missed all of these great shots because your posting is under "Teardrop Manufacturers" and I don't really check that? I'm glad I found it though. Thanks for sharing!

Every time I see your combo I think it's the perfect balance. The size of the teardrop compared to the size of the Element. And the color really ties it together nicely.

If I were you I'd plan on keeping the Element for a long time... Your teardrop just won't look as good with anything else.

Mike...

BTW, sweet looking watch dog you have there!

Thanks, Mike. And Gidget thanks you, too.

Fortunately I love the Element and do plan on keeping it for a long time. Unfortunately, the color was discontinued so if I should ever have to replace it with a new Element the first "mod" will be a paint job.

Someone on the Element forum asked if I'd be getting Gidget painted Galapagos Green to match.

Intriguing idea.
