All,

Well, I said I would post the pictures of the Raindrop at the start of Minden. We decided to post them a little early.

So, here it is. The link to the webpage for it is:

Wow!! That is very cool! Very different indeed! I love it! It looks sort-of antique. Nice job!

Steve,

Wow thanks. Coming from you that is a pretty high compliment. I like the observation of the vintage look. We thought it sort of has a miniature Spartan Manor look to it.

Jack,

Glad you spotted it right away. You are right, we had seen that Airstream concept too. Simliar shape, different layout. I thinke they called it the BaseCamp. The unit Raindrop well along before any here noticed the resemblance.

Chris,

We are still working out the price. It will be only available in the Classic and Ultra series. It will probably add a couple of bills to the cost. The model designation is the 560.

I'm getting a 550 in August, but will give the 560 a close look just in case my ship comes in. It belongs in the Museum of Modern Art! Beautiful. :SG

That is one nice looking teardrop! Very well laid out to make the best use of space. And I too love the look of that rounded front. Airstream had a similarly shaped trailer in the '30s but I think it was bigger. It has a vintage look but also modern with the curved windows and smoked glass. Maybe art deco. It is very impressive.

So it sleeps 4 Cary?? Wow! We better start making more kids to filler up!
pretty niffty... now I can just see us being able to work from the tear, sipping on champagne all cozy on the couch... gazing out upon fine views of Fish Creek Pond thru that front window.... nice! Will we get to see one out in the East anytime soon?

Back end is retro teardrop (although I'd still like to see some of the traditional oldie fenders instead), front end is a bit on the futuristic side...

Now instead of people betting on whether you actually sleep in it.. they might just say... "is there a small pony in there??". :o

Definately inguenious Cary... good job! Will be watching out for one of these!

By the way, I finally got to see 3 Camp-Inns up close and personal at the ADK Spring TearUp. Was impressed! Mighty fine tears, you guys don't scrimp on anything! The larger door windows and the font tear window makes it pretty cozy.

Thanks for breaking down and letting the cat.. er.. raindrop out of the bag early.. mucho appreciated.

PS.. Kate wants to know how many greenbacks might be involved in ownership

I think you have a winner with this design. Retro and modern at the same time, functional yet stylish. How does it feel to be a trend setter?

You should consider submitting the Raindrop for the Good Design Award in the International Industrial and Graphic Design Competition. Here is a link with more details:

Dave,

You know, somewhere during the construction of that thing there was a cutout of a horses head for in the window. I didn't find a picture of it though.

Tell kate we don't have the price for it yet. It will add 2-3K to a Classic or Ultra though we do know.

I am glad your gathering was a success. I just got through looking at Bill and Joans pictures of it. If Gail didn't make it, who was the third Camp-Inn there? I seen a third one in the pictures but couldn't tell who it was. I see you were right by Bill and Joan at the gathering, couldn't miss that shiny Hunter in the pictures.

Michael,

That is a interesting idea. I bookmarked the website and will run it by Craig as soon as he gets back from Minden. That deadline is coming fast.

We just received a third place Governors new product award here in WI for our trailers. And that was without them seeing the Raindrop. We are still pretty excited about that award, looks good hanging on the office wall too.
