3rd menu line

Postby mikeschn » Sat Oct 28, 2006 8:44 am

Will someone let me know if the 3rd menu line has gotten too long.

Thanks,

Mike...

It says 'Chicken Chat', which isn't too long for me - it's just a starter.

Oh, right - you meant the menu on this forum, not the one in my hand that I'm ordering tonight's Indian takeaway dinner from?

Looks fine to me, but another character or two and it won't. That's at 1024x768. Will it be different for someone using a lower screen res?

Whoever you are, if you're lurking at 800x600, now is the time to make a positive contribution by reporting whether it works for you!

Mike:

Looks well balanced to me...

However if you are thinking of change here are some ideas.

Could change the wording on the last entry?
From:
Problems getting activated?
To:
Activation issues?

Could reduce the size of rev date:
From:
Rich's List (rev 2/27)
To:
Rich's List (rev 2/27)

Could change Two Choices for help with photos
From:
Help with photos
To:
Photo help

OR

Change the wording to point from just photo help to Getting started
From:
Help with photos
To:
Getting started

The Getting started link would point to the
Layout of the Forum, Avatar & Tools /Newbies, Start Here
http://tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=11199

This link has all things about picture manipulation that the old link has and more.

The way it is now for letter length:
T&TTT Map Album Calendar Help with photos email Admin Rich's List (rev 2/27) Problems getting activated?

Possible change for letter length:

T&TTT Map Album Calendar Getting started email Admin Rich's List (rev 2/27) Activation issues?

You could save about 15 letters thus pulling in the over all length of the
lettering an that might give a better visual look?

is good enough to be given a square deal afterwards." -------Theodore Roosevelt

:o too long
If I can see the Hall of Fame I can't see all of Rich's list date or any of Problems getting...

It is fine if I scroll over but can't see pictures too.
:D Does that help?

8) Sorry I was making sawdust. Donate is hidden still
If you change Problems getting Activated to Activation problems The word Activation will be visible.

I'm not sure you are going to get it all where smaller screens can see the Hall of Fame and all of the menue at the same time.

The good news is if I am scrolled all the way right I can see all of them and half of the Hall of Fame.

;)

Ok that worked. Now I can see everything and read it without glasses. 8)

Course the rotating Hall of Fame is missing. Guess ya gotta give up something to get space.

Not sure I like it since I love the pictures. Better for newbies though.

..personally, I would like to have the revolving hall of fame pics back...you could drop the "problems getting activated" altogether along with the revision dates on the plans and Rich's list...you could also chage the verbage on the PM notification button to "no messages" and "messages waiting"...change "T&TTT Map" to just plain "Map"..."Help with photos" to "Photo help"...just my couple of cents worth.................

I gotta agree. I liked the revolving pics too.
And the other changes Jack mentioned would work fine.
