I need a computer artist's help...

Postby Guest » Sat Aug 13, 2005 6:49 am

Is there anyone out there that is good at drawing with a computer?
I'm trying to come up with a logo for next year's Inaugural Redwood Gathering. I would like to use the logo on the website for the gathering, which I'm currently putting together, but more importantly... I would like to use this logo for embroidered hats. I'm willing to pay for someone's help.
I need the image to be transparent, no green background as shown below. I put the green background behind it to show what it looks like on the website and to help it visually. (Please don't laugh)
I'll need it as a gif file for the website and a png file for the stitcher.
I would like the trailers to look better, maybe more trailers or something to make it look more like a camping scene and the trees to look like redwood trees...
The trailers were supposed to be nestled in behind the "Redwood Curtain." (It's a local saying around here that kind of sums up the way life is, here in Humboldt County)
Anyone up for this?
Please PM me if your interested and we can discuss your fee... Thank You.

Jack,
I don't know what happened to that image, I checked on the uploader site this morning and it was gone. (A mysterious blessing...)
I got pretty cranky and frustrated last night, but cleaned it up a bit this morning with a fresh set of eyeballs. (Very lacking in computer drawing)
You can see my latest attempt by following the link in my signature.
Maybe getting cranky like that last night helped out too, because I got a real good lead to contact someone on this forum...

Jack,
We're going to have to buy quite a few hats, to be able to sell them at a reasonable price, so I want to go with the nicest looking design we can come up with.
Thanks for the suggestion...

Say Dean, go with what you have. In my eyes, it looks good. Maybe drop the word "Inaugural". That way you can use the same logo every year by just changing the year. Move the 'R' in redwood down a little and just a tigech closer to the 'e', then move the lower line down a little and center. Just my thoughts.

Gage,
Something like this?

I do want to keep "Inaugural" in there, 'cause we only get one shot at an "inaugural" at Pamplin...

Chuck the Carlotta

Dino,

Chuck the Carlotta mention.

Pamplin Grove just sounds too cool to hyphenate.

Guy,
Sounds like poll material...
My thoughts... If I had to travel a great distance, like from out of state,
The hat would have more meaning with Carlotta, CA on it. (Just my thoughts)
You know.... I haven't had any further contact from the company that is going to be stitching the hats, other than my initial request for a quote.
Maybe we can get additional stitching on other areas of the hat for stuff like that...

Dean, I'm just helping someone to get started in the shirt/hat printing business. Will pass the logo on and am sure to get you a good price for a small order. What color hats are you going with, black?

I'm thinking forest green would look good and somewhat represent the redwood forest...
I'm currently talking with a local company, http://www.bold-images.com
Heck Yaa... a small quantity order sounds great.

OK, will do some foot work and check it out. We're involved with the racing community including Edelbrock etc. Green should make a great looking hat and I'll take a few. What a great part of California you are privilaged to live in. When in the Army stationed at Fort Ord many years back whenever I would get a pass I would drive the redwoods with camera in hand.

God Bless our America

Where the hell is Pamplin Grove, CA :QM Never heard of that town.

Hey Dean, here's what I came up with. I noticed also there are about 7 colors. You might be able to drop 2 and not hurt the design.

I saved this in gif format, I just don't like it as much as jpg. So what do you think.

Have a good day,

P.S. On preview, I just noticed that I forgot to change the background of the 'R'. I guess that's from doing it in a hurry. Never mind, I fix'd it. :o
