PM going to outbox instead of sent

Basically just curious if this is normal. I sent a PM to a member and the message has been sitting in my outbox for a few days now. I know with email, outgoing mail goes to your outbox until it is actually sent. Is it the same with this forum? If not, what is the sent messages folder for? Thanks

A PM here stays in the senders outbox until the recipient opens it. Then it will appear in the senders sent box. Handy as you can tell when / if it gets read.
