Absolutely stunning! This has been a fun thread to follow, and a wonderful boat/camper to finally see. WIsh I could see it in person.

Hi
and thanks for comments!

After 9 days we will do this "summers" last trip.
Plans is to stay on land, but I will take trollinmotor to trunk......

The boat was lots better with 4hp outboatrd. IT went straigth and was not nerbous to controll - actually lots better than I thougth.
I may do another test drive with my friends 8hp outboard ( I know that it´s a bit too big..)

I have got some request for plans, so I have started to make drawings...

Next summer we will have one more camper with us. I think there is enough space on front table for small sleeper.

Thanks to everyone

Hi Perttu, What a fantastic idea and stunning execution!!! Bravo Sir!!! :applause: :applause: :applause: In a few years you can make a 'skiff' to tow behind for the little adventurer on the way. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.

I have been watching Perttu on a boatbuiling sight called Duckworks Magazine. An emagazine. With interest. One of his designs just completed a 200 miles sail up the Texas coast for 200 miles with 2 aboard. He is a very talented man. After seeing all this and rereading every post I told my wife that we have to go to Finland to meet this man, but that's just a dream. Great work, great talent, hope to see lots more Perttu. Doug

Hi !

If someone is intrested I have been drawing plans for this whale. They are almoust ready - some pages still missing + spelling etc to do. I hope that I could finish them during february.
IT contauins allso plans for trailer and 3d pdf model of whole project. The 3d model may be usefull to anyone who is building trailer?

Plans will be free!

I have add second hatch on roof ( front ) - that keeps air fresh. Allso add second vent to bow - so there
should be enough freh air.

I like the Carawhale, but was thinking it is missing something.

Just a plywood cut out. It would probably act as a good rudder. Ha hahah

Apologies for necroing an old thread -- I'm not sure of the etiquette, if I should open a new thread please let me know. But I wanted to share that I have created a Carawhale of my own from the excellent free plans!

Here is my Newbie intro posting, with a picture of my whale, named "Wee Frilly", on the road.
http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=70281

I didn't get as many pictures taken during construction as I'd like, but I got some and will be creating as eparate thread for them soon. The plans were excellent and very detailed. I deviated in a couple minor ways (didn't put in small shelves in the back, customized the vertical bits the hatch closes onto for exact fit). I found one 'typo' in the plans on page 12 -- a bit of obvious copy pasta on the measurements of one of the two rearmost 1x2 pieces glued to the sides, easily corrected. A lot of thought went into this!
