OK Ron, I got questions.

First, where did you find ¾ 4x8 Oak plywood for 12.27? In Lowes and HD, ¾ AC pine is over $20. The oak veneer plywood is over $50.

You said titebond III is waterproof. I’ve been wondering what the difference was between II and III. I looked at Lowes today and they only have the original and II. I did see a 16 oz bottle of III at HF for over 6 bucks. The gallon of II at Lowes was around 17 bucks. I’m not sure waterproof is an issue for mine. I’ll use glue and screws to apply the top, front, back, and the plywood will have either spar varnish or fiberglass resin as a primer (double on the edges) before putting on an epoxy or poly enamel finish (2 coats).

Sometimes I pretend to be normal. But, that gets boring...so I go back to being me.

Thanks for the link to check on the glues. For my application, the only real difference between II and III appears to be that the latter has a longer working time, 10 min vs. 5 min for II. and a little more restant to moisture I don't think that matters so much that I'll keep searching for a source for gallons of III. I can get the II at HD at a reasonable price, so I think I'll use it. I don't think I have any areas that will be exposed to water.

I picked up some laquar thinner to help remove the tar from the side an unthankfull job .... but if it will get me closer to there I should be then OK.
I plan to seal the top with some wood finish still reseaching which one.

I tryed sanding it off but it was not dry enough for that it just stuck to the sand paper. I will no longer wory about the bottom I figure that dust dirt and and sand will help dry that.

I have been perplexed for to long ....
