pdart,,definately unusual,,are you gonna leave it a-la-natural,,with a bit of clear coat??? you also will definately save on hang up air freshners,,,I bet it smells great,,,looking good,,keep the pics coming,,,galley and interior

I think cedar on inside would be good but not sure about overpowering smell possibility.

There's also an issue that I'm aware of that cedar is a respiratory irritant. I would keep it's use to exterior applications or under a sealant.

I guess I could line the inside of cabinet backs with it to use as a bug repeller. Won't be too bad then.

Steve,

I know that the sawdust is very nasty when working with cedar but it's the first time that I have heard about the smell being an irritant.

A few coats of varnish should take care of any lingering smells and seal them in.

Hey Phil,
That's aromatic cedar right?
Before you seal the exterior, make sure what you use is compatable.
I've heard that the oils in that type of cedar can cause problems with epoxy resin used with fiberglass.

I sealed the exterior with spar varnish. Also am lining the inside closet with it. (Small area)
