Hey,
Are you watching the news about Jeanne?
(I hope all of our members in Florida are hunkered down and safe)

Yes I am watching Jeanne come ashore... I wouldn't want to be there, any more than I would want to be where you are at when the big one hits...

BTW, I am really starting to like the Cortona better... you don't have to download anything... you just click on the wrl link, and voila', you have a model in your browser... :o :D

Hey Mike,
Here's my "corrected" attempt at Shortys Four Footer.
Uhhh... When I took my shoes off, I shrunk to 5'-6" (I'm not getting older... Just shorter!!!)
The footwell is retractable for transit.
The squares are 3" x 3".
That's me on the left and Joanie on the right. (Our heads anyway)
If you think this is still "cramped", I'll nix the 4' design.

I just went outside and sat on 2 cushions in the squared weekender... I had enough head clearance, so I think you'll be ok.

It's sure a far cry from what you were thinking when you first joined the board...

I can't help myself. Title of subject is "This Should Be It". 50 notes later, evolution is still taking place/g/......

I know how these things go, done it myself... but hey, it's 6 a.m. and I need some humor..

--

will be adding a pic to my album with door/window.... all painting/spar varnishing is done..!! (I hope, unless I do some more evolving, too.....).

Hey Arne,

I am running into the same problem. I had the final design of the Lil Diner several iterations ago, and it's still changing... LOL

My last change was yesterday, when I realized I could make it 2 inches lower if I made it 11' long... so that's what I have now...
Image

There is something called a "design freeze"... and I'll freeze my design as soon as Steve cuts the profile templages... that sounds like it's going to start this week... Whew...

Now I just have to stop thinking how I can improve the Lil Diner long enough for Steve to cut the profile...

Do people really like to sit straight up like that? I avoid restaurants with booths with backs 90 degrees to the seat bottom (well, ok, they are really diners, but to me, they are restaurants)....

Even though the seat cushions are straight, I actually lean back into the cushions. It's very comfortable...

Oh... Yaa,
I almost forgot about that 18' gargantuan! :D

mikeschn wrote:There is something called a "design freeze"...

That is something I hope to discover real soon! :D

Well,
I had them leaning back, but then I made them straight to get a little extra room, Hmmm...

One thing I'm considering, before hitting the Design Freeze button... Get exact demensions on ALL the accessories and make sure that darn thing will be comfortable. One thing that I have "frozen" is the length at 10.5'
A 48" height, to save in materials... might bite me in the butt later on, so...

We have a design thaw in the works... I no longer have enough room on the tongue for the tongue chest...

I have 12", I need 18"... so the body has to be shifted back 6", but the door can not go back 6"... so I have to do more fine tuning...

Oh, btw, that propane bottle... I found out I can't get to it...

Here's what it's looking like...

Or if you want to grab the vrml file and rotate it for yourself, it's here

Do a "fit" and then "study"

Mike...

P.S. The quickest way to view wrl files is to install Cortona VRML Client

Hey Arne,

Here's a shot to show you how comfortable these dinette seats really are...

Even though the seat cushions are sitting up vertically, doesn't mean the people are... as is illustrated by my oldest daughter...

Mike, your daughter is beautiful.

That Ren costume is pretty seriously wow, too.
