Plans ??

Did you just design your very own teardrop or tiny trailer? Want to discuss it? Here's the place to post your design for discussion!

I went 'off plan' before my trailer frame was finished, but having a 'plan' at the start does make you focus at least on the major components, even is that plan only in your head.
Kind Regards, BigAl.

I have drawn very detailed plans.... its just the way I am... I need to be able to work something out on paper (or AutoCAD) before I just dive in to it.

I had a chassis plan......and that was it.
Mind you there were some head scratching moments along the way, but thats all part of the fun.
Am now seeking a chassis plan for a eight or nine by five footer, metric would be good

I used Sagebrush's system.

Started with Mikes Ultra Light and went from there.

Worked well, mostly. After 4 years I pulled it into the shop to correct some mostlys!

Mine is officially a Woodie, but it so now so sheathed in fiberglass, polyurethane and paint, that I am not sure any more!

Unless you place your doors ridiculously high and can clear your mattress/bedding, I think that that you are going to find this is not very practical. Even if you could get it to clear your bedding, when it swings in, you will have to move out of the way of it... and there isnt a lot of room in these things!

I drew mine completely in 3D before any sawdust flew. I have almost as much time in the 3D model as I do in the trailer itself. I like to plan things out and make sure things will fit to reduce waste... :)

I was originally going to get plans but as time went on I drew out what I wanted. Even went as far as to make a miniture profile in cardboard. But as soon as I was ready to cut the wood plans were changed. So out the window went most of my plans and I am just running with the ideas in my head. This is only the 1st build anyways. It's the next one that will count anyways!
