revamping the weekender

Did you just design your very own teardrop or tiny trailer? Want to discuss it? Here's the place to post your design for discussion!

Any negatives with making the front and rear angles the same???

i dont think it looks bad i just needed more room in mine as i essentially have no room in the tow vehicle so were making the tear with enough storage to be self sufficient of the tow vehicle

Strike what I wrote before, the front of mine is 52 degrees and the rear is 45 degrees. The top of the doors are cut at the same 52 degree angle to complement the look. Sorry for the previous inaccurate information.

<<I used the same angle on mine, but cut the rear "deeper" than the front. I did this because I liked the look better than chopping the front and back exactly the same. The doors are cut at the same angle to complement the look. >>

I played around with graph paper until I found the angle that I thought looked the best.

Hey Jeeper,

I went down to a local steel supplier and asked if they carried any aluminum diamond plate. It was a bit over $100 for the 4x8 sheet and another $30 or so to have it sheared. I had them cut 5 strips, each 3 inches wide from the long side. The remaining piece went across the front. I think it dressed up the trailer a lot and having it on the front will reduce chipping of the paint.

Here a picture that shows the front and sides.

Needless to say I'm not the first to use diamond plate and I won't be the last, but if it's a "off road" look you are trying to achieve it really does the job. If you have diamond plate on your tow vehicle, then it visually ties the two together.

Joanne

P.S. - I draw the line at putting diamond plate on the inside of the trailer!
