Rogers Build- Here we go again.

Did you just design your very own teardrop or tiny trailer? Want to discuss it? Here's the place to post your design for discussion!

Rog,
:O
Want to keep it super simple? Take the whole thing down to your local NAPA store and just say, "Help." Let them inspect it and tell you how to do it and what parts (if any) you need now. You can do the same at any RV repair facility, but there you are paying for labor and bigger bucks for parts marked up.

Well Crud.
I think it is now time to cut my losses and start over. :( This trailer is too odd. Seems the hubs are 5200lbs capacity and have inner seals that are non standard- 3”. Oh it’s not just that- the bushings -like for the springs- are non standard, the guy at NAPA let me know he knew of a place that could MAKE them!?!? $> I didn’t even ask the cost, I could just drive to Doug’s place and peel off $1000 bills until he let me take one of his trolley top rigs. I can do non-standard, my whole life has been non-standard, but I think the wise choice now is to slap everything back together- try to recoup some of my outlay and start over. A little wiser and a little less anxious.
Maybe I should think ‘restore’

I'd build one from the ground up. I bought every part for my frame including electric brakes, alloy wheels and tires for under $1000. It's not that hard to weld one yourself. I did it and I had only welded a couple of times in a high school shop class. just my two cents...

I don’t know forum decorum so I just keep adding to the same thread. :? After my CL trailer was a bust I was going to wait and maybe do the custom trailer thing. Well as I listed trailer #1 on CL I found trailer 2. It’s the ubiquitous HF 4x8 folding. For the low low price of $50. Slightly dinged up but generally sound- one frame rail tweeked a bit- hopefully not a big deal. No registration though- I’ll give updates about that process- seems the govenator needs money these days- :x I don’t want to give him any of mine. I’ll put up pics as things progress.

Greetings forumites-
Roger’s trailer version innumerable has gained new life- I have learned that registering an unregistered trailer is not that difficult- If you don’t count the time at the DMV. Only cost $45. It probably helps that I only paid $50 for the trailer… Come to think of it… That doesn’t sound so good.
The plan now is to build the Ch.A.D. Cheap and dirty. Something I can take to a launch in the desert or an overnight away. Simple design- low cost with few requirements. I also plan to learn along the way so that build #2 will be smoother- not easy, but less perilous.
The trailer is the HF ½ ton with 8â€
