Woodstrip construction

Did you just design your very own teardrop or tiny trailer? Want to discuss it? Here's the place to post your design for discussion!

Woodstrip construction

Postby Joe » Mon Apr 04, 2005 7:28 am

My Dad and I just finished this woodstrip teardrop late last summer. We spent about two years (weekends mostly) working on this.

Woodstrips, with fiberglass cloth and clear epoxy.

We had built a cedar strip canoe, and thought why not try it on a larger scale. I had liked the idea of the teardrop trailer for efficient camping, and it's cool looking design.

From your avatar, your trailer looks stunning. And next year's project (matching fenders) is going to look lovely too.....

That looks pretty cool but the pics in your album only come up as big as your avatar pic. I would really like to get a better look at that. Think you could load some pics a bit larger? Please?

Joe,
That's pretty wild the way you guys used your tailer frame as a strongback and used those forms.
They look like stapleless forms to boot!!!
Everyone is going to want to see larger photos. (The guys at BMB too)

How does it paddle? Looks like it could have a little smoother entry.

Top-notch work by me.

OK. I finally got a couple larger photos posted. Sorry it has been so long. A lot has happened in the last year or so.

I will post more ASAP.

Just spent the weekend pulling the teardrop around the top half of Michigan LP on a color tour. Will post those photos soon.
