looks cool and refreshing.

looks a little like a lemon will you call it lemonaid?

add A/C and a little ice some mint.

In reality I think it will work looks like it offers ground clearnece. can be pulled up steep grades with out scraping at the back. I think you have a good idea. can you 3 d it. or show the front view?

What type of hitch will you use? Nice plan BTW, but I think you will find steel is a bit expensive and real heavy for a skid plate that large. I spent $50.00 for a 40"x17"x.25" for a front skid plate, It weighed 78lbs. Don't believe me click on my link.... 8) you will see it.

Fenders

Postby SlimJim » Fri Oct 07, 2005 9:11 pm

I had an idea for folding fenders. They are 8" wide with an 8" wide leaf folded UP to form a carrier for jerry cans, etc. When in camp, you fold the leaf down and the fender becomes a 16" wide table. I was going to make them the full length of the trailer.

Hey Angib, do you have something similar in your portfolio? I'll go and look myself. I like the concept behind this as the Handbrake and myself love to get seriously offroad.

Powerburn,

The profile looks great. Please tell me, how are you planning on sealing your doors from the elements? T-molding? Can you bending the t-molding around those sharp curves?

It's not to late to convert to a Steve F. style inner seal...

BTw, I just printed out the Generic Benroy Plans you compiled for me on the color laser... Looks pretty good!

I started taking apart the cabinets to make drawings... there's a lot of parts on the final design... I'm thinking about keeping the original version, the one you made drawings of, and the final version, which includes the drawers and the raceway...

Mike...

P.S. Do you want me to post your interim pdf file?

Mike,

That's up to you, but I don't think that the 3rd drawing of your sketches is in that one. I will send you the latest that I have and you can do what you will with it. Like I said elsewhere I will be out of town Sat until next Tue, so can't update anything during that time.

Hey all,
Powerburn trailer looks awsome what suspension are you using?
Your trailer design is almost exactly what i've come up with so far!!!
What is your wheel track? (distance from outside of tyre to out side of tyre across the trailer)
I'm trying to keep mine the same as the tow vehicle (toyota hilux 4x4) for good tracking offroad like in soft sand.
Also mate what size tyre are you using?
31"x10.5"r15's?
Cheers

I just finished drawing up an off-road tear complete with a 3-link suspension and 31" tires. It is pretty basic as far as the tear itself but the frame and suspension is complete.

Oh and its based on a 4x9 trailer with a 4x8 tear so you can store Jerry/Water cans on the front.
