Sleeps four and looks like a teardrop?

Postby nater104 » Tue Apr 27, 2010 2:54 pm

Has anyone made the 2+2 or something like that from the design library? I've been using the search but not having luck. I've been interested in Teardrops for years, but now have two small kids that we can't put in a seperate tent. I love the Teardrop shape and was thinking of trying to do a 5x8 or 5x10 maybe 5' high and some how shoving a cross space for kids. I might have to resort to making more of a TTT. I've thought about having a front hatch that somehow folds up/down panels to make another space, but that goes against KISS. Any examples of that? I might have to go with TTT and wait until the kids are older or out of the house to get a teardrop.

It looks like we will have to wait even longer for a Teardrop, I'm getting a 13' 1966 Scotty Camper from Craigslist a few miles from my house. I might be re-doing the inside wall's and/or wiring.

Hey Nater!

We would love to see some pics when you pick up the Scotty, and of course of your repairs and upgrades!

Glad to see another Lehigh Valley member on the books. Let me know if you need a hand with any rework on the Scotty. :D

Ok, thanks. At the moment I'm just trying to hurry up and get the hitch I bought installed so I can get the thing home :)

Looking at the inside and more of the water damage, I think I'm in over my head :) That's what the face is for.

A few pictures from my phone of the inside

There are two glass shades for this up in the cabinet. I'm thinking of putting some LEDs or something in it because I don't really want gas connected inside

One of the past owners put shelves and a door where the fridge was.
That nasty mattress was the first thing to go. One of the red cushions is missing and the rest are ripped and/or a little moldy, so we probably won't be using them.

The table is up on a shelf that the last guy added for storage.

I'll have to take some pictures of the water damage. You can see the one spot in the back just above the mattress.

Wolfgang has a beautiful 2+2 and a very detailed build thread.
