Pamplin Grove '06 Or Bust

Got my template for the profile cut today...
I couldn't resist seeing what this 11'long "Plump Modernistic" profile was going to look like setting on the frame...

It's Pamplin or Bust, but I hope to do a shake down cruise to Shasta... :worship:

Dean,

That is a really neat profile. Very round. At 11' you should have plenty of room. I'm looking forward to seeig it completed next year in the Redwoods.

Me thinks you're gonna need a door in there. Looks good!

Thanks TDN and Scott,

Nite,
That's not my wall, it's a template... like a storypole.
The door is laid out on there, but the pencil marks don't show up in the pic.
I'm going to get a template bushing setup for my router, before making any door cutouts on the template. The door cutout on the template will be larger than the actual door. I want to have the bushings in hand before going any further with the door...

Looks GREAT!!! You won't be sorry with the "story pole" idea. That's how I built the three TD's so-far. Nice to see. The shape is cool too. :applause:

Thanks Everybody,
I think the challenging part is going to be, "staying the course" and not making major changes along the way. The overall size of the profile somewhat surprised me just a bit, but I'm getting used to it...

Hey Dean,

That's looking good. It's a far cry from your original designs...

Hey the pattern looks like it was CNC cut. Was it?

Mike,
No CNC... :(
Jig Saw and Belt Sander... Going to go over the elipse with a sanding block to make sure the edge is at a 90 degree angle to the surface of the template at every point along the perimeter....
Remember that first one I sent you, asking for your opinion? (Yaa... The 18 footer with tandem axles)

Boy Dean, I see someone has plans for it. Hi Joan. Don't forget Dean, bottom of door trim is half the distance of the mattress thickness. Come to think about it, your mattress isn't going to be on the floor. Oh well, then try and remember to allow a 1/4" gap on both sides of your galley hatch frame (thought I would get you thinking about that early).

Have a good day and don't rush.

8)
P.S. When you break out the belt sander, clamp both sides together and work them together. Just the way I did it.

Hey bg,
Looking forward to seeing you there. Yeah... You have a little bit longer drive than I do. (Guess that means you'll have to get yours finished about two days ahead of me)

Gage,
... 1/4" gap on both sides of galley hatch frame.
I've spent too much time already thinkin'. (9 months) :?
I just looked at a diagram I have of that and by golly... there is a gap on both sides... How about that? :)

Madjack,
Thanks and it's nice to see you back here.
