OK Here is the plan........

The donor Scotty (with no title) will donate the top 4ft to the new camper. Keep the same lines and radius and rebuild it 5ft wide on a four foot trailer. Trailer is 10 ft long and so is the donor. I can use all the skin with out changing anything. Cut down the door to the needed height. New glass for the windows and the roof skin should work with a little tweaking. The inside will be the size of a queen bed and maybe a small bunk for a grandkid. The back will be the galley. (have not exactly figured that out yet.

OK let me have it. First timer here so open to all ideas.

Boy I hate to see anybody tare up a Scotty just for a frame.

A frame your going to have problems with adapting to a flat trailer anyway! More than half of the Scotty's I've restored or rebuilt have had broken Axles to boot.

Sugestion!

A Scotty in any condition is worth $500.

Sell the Scotty to someone who will restore it and buy yourself a new Trailer Frame.

For $500 (or more) you could get yourself a pretty nice frame.

And Save a nice Vintage Trailer.

Look at this post on how to register a trailer with no title...$21 and about 2 weeks.

Catsmith, you should have a chat with Gage, here on the board. He demolished a standy and has built a beautiful teardrop trailer after altering the old trailer frame. You can PM him here on the forum.
