It's really easy to get in and out of a traditional teardrop trailer. To exit, you sit up, open the door, and rotate your legs out. It's the same getting back in.

It looks like you are going to have to crawl into this design. Or perhaps I haven't figured out exactly where your mattress is?

Going to upload new drawings. Looking for information about size of 6-wides. Are the tires outside of the frame? Is it actually about 8' wide fender to fender?

I am back at the drawing board haha. We have actually torn the pop-up down to the frame. Still reading, drawing and trying to figure this all out. We could cut down the outriggers and would be 54" wide with tires on outside or use the whole frame and go 76" with tires inside. So torn because like the look of fenders but have the room and seems such a waste to cut it down. Would have to build bed over wheel wells and then have only 33" head room for sitting up. Would love to use the pop up mattress which is 70" wide

Is the thought of keeping the base 76" wide and then having tires on outside of that even possible? Would make it almost 8' wide. I have gone back to more traditional teardrop shape and soooo confused.

You've got a pretty good plan. I would not go wider than the existing frame. The tires would look odd (IMO), sitting outside that 76" width; and you are limited to less than 80" before you need increased lighting and markings:

http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/standar ... rpstr.html

If you leave the chassis as is, you can either build boxes around the tires and have a raised bed with storage underneath; or, you can do as you show in your drawings and use a queen sized mattress (60" wide) with a little space around the mattress. At least, that would make it easier to make the bed. My preference would be to keep it as simple as possible.

I love to see pass-throughs on teardrops. They make perfect sense to me. From what I see, I'm assuming that you are planning on camping in the USA, probably in the Southern states, as it looks like you only plan on visiting campgrounds with electricity plus you're trying to fit air conditioning in. Also, I don't see any 12V outlets. Be aware that, if you plan to camp out west, especially the northwest, many campgrounds are off-grid.
