Hello everyone. I read the application for the national gathering, and found out that (this is a teardrop gathering) teardrops, as determined by Grant and Lisa, will be assigned the main campground. Those of us with non-teardrops (my tiny trailer doesn't fit the discription of a teardrop) will be put in the overload areas. Will I be alone with the winnabagos? How many non-official-teardroppers are going?

Greetings from Colorado!

As the organizer of the International Teardrop Gathering, I opted not to be in the main campground, but across the street in the "primitive area". So Joseph, you will not be alone. The primitive area does have water available but no electricity [although I am working on that]. The water is at common spigots. There are no defined "sites" in the primitive area, it is a large grassy area with a few trees. It is directly across a small street from the main campground.

Hey, Joseph!

You'll be less alone than you think ... ;-} ;-} ... Lisa & I are setting up camp in the primitive area, too. And I suspect that several of our tour members will be out there, as well. I can't see going into the main campground if I don't need the electricity, but that's just me ...

Winnabagos? Wazzat? Sounds like something better suited for the far reaches of the nearby Fairgrounds complex ... heh, heh, heh ...!

Looking forward to seeing & meeting as many of you out there as can make it! In the meantime ...

CHEERS!

Grant

And if you go to Minden, you must be able to find someone to photograph the inside of your trailer, which we're all waiting to see.

I think my teardrop would pass judgment by the "politicaly correct teardrop police" but have elected to camp in the overload area also. I don't need anything to plug into and from what I have read so far in this thread I'll have some nice neighbors. :)

George,
What do you mean, "you're working on that"... reference electricity in the primitive area? A generator??
I hear it's suppose to be hot, so if we go, I'm thinking I might want to bring the air-conditioner along.

I'm going to register tomorrow...we're hoping to go! WOO-HOO!!

Happy holidays from snowy Colorado! :snow

I am working to see if we can have a temporary power panel put in the primitive area. NO PROMISES, but we'll give it the good ole college try! If you REALLY want/need electricity, I would sugeest that a site in the campground proper would be you best bet.

Generators. Yuch. No disrespect intended. If I wanted to camp next to a motor, I would simply park next to the highway <grin!> . Kind of goes with barking dogs...

Thanks George!
Though we are normally VERY rustic campers....I don't like the weather extremely HOT... and not knowing Nebraska weather at all... maybe we'll stick in the main area, if we can go.
Still not sure.
