My daughter has been battling Ulcerated Colitis for 15 years. March 10th she will be having surgery to have her Colon and large intestines removed. Shes only 36. Please everyone keep her in your prayers. Drs say this will mean a cure but of course this means a Colostomy bag for the rest of her life.
Please keep her in your prayers.
Bill and Marijo

Bil and Marijo,
I didn't realize your daughter was having this problem for so long. She is so young to be burdened with that. I can't imagine what she has been through and what she will be facing. I'm so sorry...my heart goes out to her and you all. I will keep her (and ya'll) in my prayers. :worship: :worship:

The Dr. thinks it could be a blood clot or a blockage. She has to go get a ultra sound and MRI on Thursday. She's really scared. Will you all keep her in prayer?

Thanks
Mandy

Update:

Well my Mom got a letter in the mail with some of the results from the tests. It dosen't look very encouraging, she has an appt. on the 5th.
Will you all still keep her in prayer?

Also my Dad is in the Hospital with some severe pain. They think he had a mini stroke. I'm going to see him tomorrow. It's gonna be a 4 hour trip. Will you all pray for him and for traveling mercies for us.

Thank You all for your prayers.
Mandy

Aww Mandy, I'm sorry to hear about your mom and your dad. That's a lot for you to handle. You know your mom, dad, you and the rest of your family are in our prayers. We will pray, pray, pray for them...promise. :worship: :worship:

Update:

Postby mechmagcn » Thu Mar 05, 2009 9:37 pm

Donna was diagnosed with a large soft tissue sarcoma last year, we appreciate all of the prayers and well wishes from everyone.
With the help of radiation and chemo, this tumor has shrank considerably, but earlier this week we got the bad news from the most recent scans. The cancer has spread to her lungs and other areas. The oncologist who has been treating her decided that his treatment wasn't working, so he is refering us to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston TX. We're not sure just yet when we are going, but hope it is soon. Please keep her in your prayers, it looks like we need all of the help that we can get. :worship:

Donna - DON'T EVER GIVE UP HOPE! My cousin's wife was diagnosed with brain cancer, liver cancer, everywhere cancer and had a double mastectomy 4 years ago. She's in her 40's and is beating the odds. The doctors can't figure it out but we have all prayed like hell for her and we will pray like hell for you!!! You and Jeff are in our thoughts and prayers! :worship: :worship: :worship:

Jeff and Donna, Sorry to hear this news. I hope you really can find some comfort in the fact that we are here offering you up in our prayers. I believe that God truly hears the cries of His people. Blessings, Walt

Jeff, and Donna...if you need any information about places to stay at low cost near MDAnderson, I have that info in a blogpost and check the links regularly to be sure the information is up-to-date.
http://gaelenscafe.blogspot.com/2008/08 ... -have.html
I also helped compile additional information for a support site I'm on:
http://coloncancersupport.colonclub.com ... f=1&t=4257
The site one of those users suggested is:
http://www.mdanderson.org/departments/rotaryhouse/

Hope this helps; my strongest thoughts to both of you.

Becca,
Just a quick Thank You to everyone who kept my daughter in their prayers. The 4 hour surgery turned into a 7 1/2 but was a success. Now she has a long road of recouperation ahead of her but al least she will have a much healthier happier road to travel.
We will keep all of you in our prayers.
Thanks again.

Becca,
Just a quick update on my daughter. After her surgery, she had some setbacks with infections, healing, problems with learning to take care of her Colostomy Bag, loss of 40lbs and lots of tears with 2nd guessing her decision, Last week her husband took her out for a date to lunch at a chinese restraunt (something she hasnt been able to do in 10 years) She called me very excited stating " Mom I ate and didnt get sick" It was an Ah-Ha moment for her only then she relized she made the right decision. Since then she has joined an Ostomy Support Group and is doing very well emotionally and physically, she gained 10 lbs back. And went to the circus last nite with her family something she also hasnt been able to do without getting sick and having an accident. She has been housebound for a long time. All the medications she was on are a distant memory now. We all feel now she made the right decision.
Thanks for all the prayers. :worship:
Marijo
Hope to see you on the road.

Woo-hoo! :applause: That is heartwarming news!! This is the beginning of a whole new life for her...something she had to put on hold because of her illness. Doesn't that just make you want to cry when you hear and see the happiness coming out of her. Tell her we are all pulling for her.
