Doug,
The rear hatch is Kevin's earthquake escape hatch... Why would he want to block it off with a galley?

Everyone else I know got a good ride though.

You were at the beach and missed it! I feel so bad for you considering that it's -5 F here right now. :(

Apprently Kevin has been able to find a supply of explosive bolts they used to use on space capsules. They are now installed on the EEE unit (Emergency Earthquake Egress) along with a JATO propulsion system and braking parachutes. :D

We had quite a bit of broken glass (no window damage) and damaged knicknacks from being thrown off shelves and one bookcase fell over. The Modernaire had a stack of firewood fall into the left side but I don't know yet what it did. I will look later in tne day when it is light out and we get stuff picked up in the house. Power was out until about 8:30 pm but having a few Coleman lanterns handy gave us plenty of light. See you at the IRG 3.0!!

Broken vase, $75.

Crack in wall, $150.

Another excuse for not finishing your teardrop, priceless.

Good to hear no one was injured.

Any appreciable aftershocks?

Stay safe, all of you.

It's been 24 hours since the quake hit, 23 aftershocks with the last one at just past noon today. Hope we've seen the last of them for a while. :worship:

Here's a few pics of the results of the quake.

Looks like the earthquake stick did it's job. Nothing fell out of those cabinets.
Had to carefully push everything back with a yard stick before opening them.

Kinda freaky when I noticed the clock this morning, it stopped when the quake hit yesterday.

Tanya says there will be more aftershocks for a few months to come. I have to believe what she says being how she's lost three house's in three different quakes. Talk about a jumpy person when a quake hits. :?
