Gas in your area.....

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

My last fill up was over $75, so I'm only driving when necessary. I don't work so I haven't left the driveway since Tuesday.

my little 4 cyl jeep takes almost $50 to fill. I was thinking I might be able to retire early and take a part time job..........Not now :( More walking and bicycling is how I'm dealing with it. Good for my trailer though, when I get upset I work more. :x Time to circle the wagons and bug our elected officials right out of their great paying jobs, only way to get their attention. Don't vote for any one with ties to oil, insurance, and wall street.

I do maintainence on 23 restaurants in three states. It prolly costs me $50. a day in a little Nissan PU. The show must go on, so the prices of goods and services are going up too to cover the gas prices. Sadly, the poorest of us are suffering the most. If you make $2000. a week it doesn't hurt much... The poor waitress getting by on $300. a week is in real trouble. Unfortunately, we'll prolly see $5. gas in the next year or two. The rest of the developed world already pays that and more. This fact is not lost on the oil companies... They know they can get it and they eventually will.

Never fear---your government wants to add a dollar tax so it may be sooner than you think. The oil company won't get it all. And we have no bus service in the area. How great is that?

Phoenix, land of cheap gas and smog.....

Many years back after CT had gone to unleaded, I was surprised in Phoenix to find they still offered leaded gas, under the brown haze I call the "Phoenix Dome"... nothing nature likes better than heat and hydrocarbons... cough, cough...

Well, turn about is fair.. people used to go to Phoenix for their breathing problems... now they can go there to get breathing problems...

As people use less gas, less tax dollars are collected. The Federal Gov. is already talking about this. The government always wants more not less, so by cutting back means they will raise taxes. A greater percentage of the gasoline bill will be taxes. In Europe it isn't how much the actual gas costs, its how many taxes are on it that makes the high per liter rate.

I can remember in Santa Barbara during a major drought with water problems, everywhere it was pushed that water needed to be saved....which it did....but as people cut back, less money came into the water board so rates went up. So then people got less water for what they used to pay for more water. Of course rates never go down, even when the rainy year comes and reservoir fills and over flows.

Paid $3.019 this morning. Highest station I've seen has been $3.099. Seems to be trickling off slowly.

California with high gas taxes on top of Fed, the stations around the corner for me are $3.49 and they represent a typical price.
Last weekend when we were south, Temecula was $3.25 which is much cheaper than a lot of Southern Calif.
Makes other state's prices sound pretty good, huh?
