Hey Doug,

I was a little worried about, bringing Wolfie, he's a small dog, with a big
bark....I'd hate to be a bother, but he would be so hurt, if he saw me
leaving with, his dog house...

What to do

Ditto Jan....there is no way I would go without my dog....she may restrict me in terms of wandering around and visiting as I don't bring her while visiting other tears, as they may have dogs too. some people don't want to deal with another persons dog....I have no problem with that however...It's just me and my dog and if she saw me take off without her, she'd never talk to me again....For me, it's just like going camping and not taking the kids, unthinkable...like me, like my dog. Doug :)

I could really fowl things up by bringing Little Hog & Chance.
Don't worry... I quit taking them camping because of Little Hog. :?

Chance is a nice old dog...McNab, he & Smokey (Cat) followed me across the street during the divorce.
Little Hog (Given to me as a house warming gift as a pup from some friends) is a short legged, long haired Jack Russel... he can bounce 4' off the ground non stop all day, tail wagging, not missing a beat.
I was told that he would settle down after about 5 years, but I don't think so...

Oh God, don't talk to me about Jack Russels! My girlfriend has one. I've never seen a dog with built in springs before this one. You're right, 4' jumps are typical. Nope, wouldn't make a good camping buddy.........but maybe if you did bring Little Hog, he could be in charge of making everybody laugh.

Chris.
I had a bird I used to take campig, Gordo was his name and he allways kept people in stitches...
I gave him away to an ex girlfriend that swore her bird would die if it didn't have Gordo to keep it company.
Gordo was a cockatiel, had quite the vocabulary, loved to be included in jamb sessions and had a major foot fetish... (Thought feet, shoes, slippers and even socks were other birds)
I raised him just after he hatched.
He spent very little time in a cage, at least when I had him.
I only clipped his wings once early on... He got really bummed out about that too.
He was free to split and fly around wherever I took him.
The longest he ever stayed away was about three days once.

I raised cockatiels for a short period of time. Beautiful birds and really easy to train.............they can be real clowns. Love 'em. Bet one would be a lot of fun on a trip. I always left mine at home. Shame. :(

Hey... About getting ready for the redwoods, I want to hear some good campfire stories when we are all there.
I've got one about the first time I ever camped at Swimmer's Delight.
I call it the story of my singing frog... My late aunt jogged my memory about that one a few years back.

Unfortunately, I should probably leave Dawg at home due to health reasons (her's not mine) she's past 15 years old and has trouble walking on rough ground. She does ok in grass, but gravel is really hard on her. She did manage to somehow sneak her bed into the rear of the trailer during construction though.
