Scrap wood tool box

Postby ratrod71 » Wed Nov 16, 2016 10:42 pm

Took some of my scrap plywood and made a couple of tool boxes to give as Christmas gifts.

Ratrod:

Thanks for cranking the dimensions out. I've got so much "scrap" wood, it's getting in my way. Looks like a "this-month's-project."

I am sure you talented builders can figure this out, but the dimension I forgot to mention was the bottom board of the toolbox. It is 6 1/2" X 16".

You Da Man. Would you post a picture please. These are so simple and fun to build, and a good way to use wood scraps.

You Da Man.
No... you da man!

I used 1/4" subfloor for the sides 'cause the recipe called for scrap wood. In fact one of the ends was made out of 1/2" ply instead of 3/4". The only thing I bought was the 1 1/8" dowel. Today or tomorrow I'll slather a coat of The Mix on 'em but that'll have to wait until I've snowblown 10" of white stuff off the drive way.

These are going to be damn handy. I'm frequently hauling tools around the house and outside. Thanks for the catalyst.

I don't envy the snow blowing. Did that myself last week.
