There are a lot of new wireless options out there now. I have an old fashioned wire and wireless combo system which I was considering to replace because of the cost and need for a contract. Companies like SimpliSafe (https://simplisafe.com/ are very intriguing for me. Wireless, no contract, reasonable cost, many feature options and so forth. And you can install or relocate them yourself.

Some would even work inside a TD or CT.

You do need internet/cellphone access.

Hope this helps.

PS I was able to leverage my old system monitoring cost down by threatening to go with SimpliSafe.

There is a $200 special going on right now with them. That made their prices more acceptable to me. We are going to build a new home and for that house, I will certainly look at them for my first choice.

We have Iris by Lowe’s and have really liked it. It’s free unless you want monitoring or to send Alerts to more then one person. Also integrates with Alexa and Google home.
Some day I will figure out something to put here. But for now....

Hi Kim,
I have no connection with SimpliSafe, but did receive this text in an email this morning:

“Hi there,

15 minutes.

It's about how long it takes to start protecting your home. (Maybe an hour if you're in a mansion.)

Your system arrives at your home ready to work.

All you have to do is plug it in.

You won't use a single screw.

You won't use a computer.

You won't miss work. You won't re-arrange your day.

15 minutes. At the end, you have around-the-clock, award-winning home protection.

Someone watching out for your home. For your family. For the things you work hard for.

Day and night. Year round.

Important: today is the very last day of our holiday sale.

It's your last chance to save $200 on our best-selling security system.

It's your last chance to take 15% off any other new system.

Order yours today.

Have a merry Christmas weekend,

Dave

We have simpli safe and have had for several years. We like it. Have only had one issue that took any time to resolve, and much of that was my fault for not responding to something much earlier. if you have any specific questions, I would be happy to answer any of them
