Thanks!
Waiting for "someday" will leave you on your deathbed wondering why you didn't just rearrange your priorities and enjoy the time you had, instead of waiting for a "better" time to come along...

As a update I wanna share that the 16kw - 1,250 AH Lithium batteries are fantastic.

1) they have allowed me to almost double my solar panel output to 5 x daily panel wattage
1,000 watts in flat panels is getting 5,000 watt output / storage in SF area summer time
vs. prior daily out put usage 1800 to 2,600 watts same panels with L16 Surrette 400 ah batteries.

2.) no problem running my 5,000 btu AC & also charging my batteries in full

3.) limited to no heat transfer from solar equipment as with flooded batteries.

4.) ZERO off gassing problems

5.) IMHO - Lithium is worth every single penny , works much better then ever hoped or expected.
HANDS DOWN - No comparison to flooded or AGM

My only experiance with Lithium batteries are with my 12V (Dewalt drill) driver. Amazing torque, lightweight and almost full power until it's dead.

What I don't understand is how a battery change can increase your PV output?

You can only store so much before the battery gets full.

Are you saying that the new batteries allow the panels to push out more wattage? Is there some sort of bottleneck the the old batteries had that limits "flow" from the panels? Is that what I'm reading?

I'm tyring to buy a new battery around 85ah. Do I go with agm or regular deep cycle? Any preference on brand, optima and interstate are so expensive compared to a duracell? Any help is appreciated.

If you are new to batteries, with limited knowledge about how to charge and maintain a battery properly, but want to get something right away, you cannot go wrong with this Walmart battery for $75.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/EverStart-24 ... /180350522

This battery is not a “true” deep cycle battery and the stated amp hours is 101 at a 1 amp discharge rate (which means it probably is only about 80 amp hours at the standard 20 hour discharge rate).

If properly charged and maintained, it will probably last about two years before the capacity starts dropping off. The approximate date of manufacture is shown on the sticker. Shop around and look for a date that is only one month old, but no more than two months, otherwise you will probably get a weak battery that will never perform as it should.

If the battery needs replaced, especially when you are on the road, Walmarts are virtually everywhere.

When it is time to get a new battery, you can upgrade based upon your newfound knowledge.

one note of caution when buying batteries at Wal-Mart nowdays = I have noticed lately that more and more of the batteries they are stocking/selling now are coming from it's either ?Korea or China? (will take a better look at them next time I go there) as time goes on, the Excide/Johnson Control stock (USA made ones) is going away as they get sold off. The company's name is something like 'Clarious' or 'Clarian' and is now making/suppling them to W/M...........

See if https://powerstationbattery.com/blogs/blog/sodium-ion-batterie can give you any ideas.
