i found these at Home Depot used for emergency lighting battteries they are small and I am thinking of using one for left side and one for right and 1 for Galley, Recharging then thru one place.

they are small light and do not take up much space and do not cost much about $30,

Any thoughts on these??

Looks like those are 5 aH batteries. Exactly what do you plan to run off those? What do you plan to use to charge them?

I would expect you can run a couple of small LED lamps or a computer fan for an hour or two before you need to recharge. You can probably charge you iPad once or your iPhone twice.
You don't want to run those down below 50% before recharging or you will permanently damage the battery.

Yes, Ron, you're right. They're small, light weight, and relatively low cost.
BUT; They are engineered for commercial/industrial emergency lighting, for when the power goes out in an industrial environment. They are supposed to power two, low-output lamps for about 6 hours. We have to replace them yearly where I work, and sometimes more often, as they are not very robust. Will they fulfill your small lighting needs? Only you can determine that. I suggest you'd be better off with a low-cost, Wal-Mart, lead-acid lawn tractor battery. At least that way, you can use a conventional charger to bring them back up to par, if needed.

LED inside light, under body night lite LED, computer fans, Galley lights

I think that maybe I will use for Fans and a cell recharge station,

battery tender, I am still learning about solar and have a source for that,

I am an experimenter and might see what I can do with wind energy too.

Roger

I will check into that.

my build is a little heavy and may use it as a counter weight too.

What is your amp use in 24 hours? that will tell you how long they will last. For me I'm planing on 15AH per 24 hours. I think that is on the low to average side of use. You would have 15 amp hours total, and you don't want to go less than 50% discharge so that is 7.5 AH of usable power. That is not a lot. Sure even a small solar setup would recharge the quick but if you had a cloudy day or two you are with out power.

Maybe look at the 35 AH wheel chair batteries if you want a small battery.

35 amp 12 sealed battery is about $65. even led lights can add up to amps per hour!

For certain. I use two LED strip lights, one in the galley and one in the cabin. They use 3A each (36W). Doesn't sound like a lot, but if you are camping for several days without hooking up, and the sun isn't shining, as is often the case up here in the PNW, it's pretty easy to run a battery down.

Build in more battery capacity than you think you need. You'll need it sometime.
