120VAC Power Inlet

Postby Mary K » Thu Mar 29, 2007 11:40 am

I had a few folks ask me where I got the Power Inlet for my TD, so I thought I should post it in case others would like to know. I found this part/info somewhere here on the forum long time ago.

I bought this inlet from the Bass Pro Shop online. Bass Pro Shop

It's $14 and a good deal. I used a 2" hole saw (they say use 1 7/8") and used the screws provided to install. My 3/4" side wall was to thick to use the nut thingie ??? on the back side. (I don't know what it is called) I put a bead of silicone around it just for added protection from leaks.

I wired it straight to a GFCI receptacle and daisy chained the other receptacles to it.

Thanks Mary! I'm using the same inlet for shore power and was planning on installing just like you! Wasn't sure if that was the way to go...now I know I'm on the right track!

Oh, I ended up taking out the Romex stiff A$$ wiring and replaced with stranded 12awg wire.

Looks great MK
Correct me if I am wrong But how are you going to keep the smoke in the wires would you not still need some sort of over load protection IE circuit breaker or fuse

I just read your other tread I see you are using a 40' 15amp lighted Circuit Breaker extension cord. That should keep the smoke in the wires  Dave
