If you are new to batteries, with limited knowledge about how to charge and maintain a battery properly, but want to get something right away, you cannot go wrong with this Walmart battery for $75.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/EverStart-24 ... /180350522 This battery is not a “true” deep cycle battery and the stated amp hours is 101 at a 1 amp discharge rate (which means it probably is only about 80 amp hours at the standard 20 hour discharge rate).
If properly charged and maintained, it will probably last about two years before the capacity starts dropping off. The approximate date of manufacture is shown on the sticker. Shop around and look for a date that is only one month old, but no more than two months, otherwise you will probably get a weak battery that will never perform as it should.
If the battery needs replaced, especially when you are on the road, Walmarts are virtually everywhere.
When it is time to get a new battery, you can upgrade based upon your newfound knowledge.
