Popular Science's Green "Grand Award Winner" for 2007 is the super-thin "PowerSheet"
solar panels from Nanosolar, which are both thin and inexpensive to
produce. PowerSheet is printed on "sheets as thin as aluminum foil."

I can see the small trailer community embracing this flexible, thin filmed solution @ 1/10th the cost.

Now wouldn't it be cool if you could use that for the roof on a TD? Never need to plug in anywhere.
Just use an 1/8" substrate and that on top, wonder how it's expand/contract numbers are??

Rich:

By looking at the company testing and the videos it appears they put allot
of stock in reliability. It would seem expansion and contraction would be
taken into consideration, however more information is needed to say for
sure.

When I bought my other solar panels I was steered away from flexable panels and I can't remember why though.

:o This isn't just flexible it is "printed" on. I think if this stuff works even a bit the power company's are gonna go broke. Bet it causes cancer and CA folks won't be able to use it. :R

oh oh. Uses a copper base. Don't we have a copper shortage and isn't copper in the environment an issue? :(

Oh well they are sending the first 100,000 to Europe anyway. It will be years before we get our hands on them.

Harbor Freight has a 3 panel, 45 watt system on sale for $199. It seems to me that this is a great way to go. You could wait for the flexible stuff, or you could try this system to see if solar is the way you want to go.
