It is very directional, I can pickup Belton and Waco stations easier than Austin stations. I can pick up the Austin stations but I have to aim it at them, then it falls off my entertainment center.
The antenna that has been getting good is called the Silver Sensor. It is pretty small albeit a bit finky looking.

I've been looking into one of these silver sensor's for the tear, all the stuff I read about them says their a UHF HDTV antenna, will it work for normal UHF/VHF because I dont have a HDTV reciver in the tear...

The FM radio band sits between TV channel 6 and 7. I would not be surprised if a telescoping automotive radio antenna would do the trick. The optimum length is 32" if memory serves.

I'm in the build process so I got one that is sandwiched
beneath the skin. 12x12x3/4 thick, vhf, uhf, and amplified.
Have yet to see how well it works away from home.

I put in a cable hook up in the cabin so I wouldn't have to try to run an antenna inside. The hook up will be right next to my incoming power outlet. If the campground has cable I'll use that but if not, I plan to set a pair of rabbit ears or something like that on top of the trailer.

I used to scower the local salvage yards for conversion vans. they usually have a small t.v. antenna on the rear near the rain gutters that collapses like a radio antenna. they're about an inch wide by four inches long folded up and get great reception. good luck.

Those are hospital grade 20A receptacles. Where'd you get those?
