I lucked into one good find and made a purchase as well.
First, my neighbor who knows about what I am building asked me if I could use this:

a square D breaker box with 2 15 amp breakers installed for free... heck yes I can use it.
Then I had to make a stop at A&A auto for some other items, and came across this:

I didn't want a "Frankenstein" type blade switch, and when I stumbled across this I thought it was perfect what with my kids etc....
It's a battery cutoff switch that uses a plastic key to turn it on-off.
$9.99 plus tax.... not too bad.
I can install it right in my panel, and not have to go to the battery (which will be tucked away) to kill the power.
