FanTastic -vs- Turbo/Maxx fans (Lenny?)

Postby goldcoop » Tue Sep 20, 2005 7:50 pm

Hey all!

I have my Christmas list to work on!

I want a SERIOUS fan to replace my small weenie (???) one way fan!

I noticed that Camping World has both in their catalog....

I also noticed that most discussion is centered around how good the FanTastic fans are, but haven't seen anything about Turbo/Maxx, so what's the skinny; does anyone have any experience or opinions?

Lenny?

Cheers,

Coop

The best fan I think to get is the Fantastic
"Create a Breeze". Its the basic model, no bells & whistles. They do have
them with t-stats, auto openers, rain sensors, remotes and on, & on.
The Turbo Max fans are great fans, but there mounted externally protruding
above the roof maybe 10-11" and its about 20-22" long. A co-worker and I
did a comparison on the 2 fans and they both came up identical (one was a
little better than the other on the second speed, amp draw wise, but not
much) Hope this helps.

Happy Trails

I used the Turbo Maxx on my 5th wheel trailer because it's design allows use even in the rain (at least in exhaust mode), it has served me well for nearly 5 years now. Much like an attic fan in a house. The same features that made it seem right for the 5er make it seem wrong for my teardrop. It just would not look right with that huge reverse "hood scoop" on the roof. So for the teardrop I am going with the Fantastic Vent. :D

I've decided on the Fantastic with T-stat. Bledsoe's site has them cheaper, but it doesn't state if it is a low or high profile, standard or high dome. Madjack's site is only a little higher, but you know what you're getting. I want the low profile and flatter dome vent, so I'd order there where I know I'll get what I need.

...I think it's a good deal Dale and when you figure that there is no shipping then the price diff is only about 5 bucks and they are really great folks to deal with
