www.sailorsams.com/Dimmers-and-Dimmer-Switches has a
variety of (pricy) dimmer switches. :o

I know this is an old thread but I thought I’d revive it.

I want to have light switches on each side of my square drop so we don’t have to reach across each other to turn off the light.

I purchased 4 of these switches PWM LED Slide Dimmer with Rocker Switch 8A (Wall Plate) (Side Slider) 12v/24v DC https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DD2GBRD/re ... kCbQFZSCJN

They work great alone but I was hoping I could connect the output of the left switch to the light and the output of the right switch to the light and have them each work independently. They don’t sell a 3 way version. They use pwm. I just tested it and it doesn’t work when they are both connected to the light. Only when one or the other is connected. Does anyone know if there is a way to make this work? Does anyone know if there is a way to make this work?

Here is my light.

Thank you but I wanted real switches like you would find in a house. That’s why I went with the rockers

I used these

I use mostly LED strip lights in my TD, so these work fine. I mount with a small piece of double-stick tape.

I like my dimmer switch. I wanted it to look like a normal home switch. I wish it was a 3 way switch though.

Maybe throwing gasoline on a fire but I would advise against any dimmer that uses pulse-width-modulation for dimming. Even if you aren't sensitive to the flicker, other people near you and wildlife are. claimed (accurate or not) 10khz still registering the nervous system even if not consciously detectable. For 12v LEDs you can dim them by dropping the voltage being fed, depending on the specific elements most will light starting between 3 & 5 volts. A voltage controller will cost more than a PWM dimmer but is a much more responsible method. If you're on a tight budget like i was, wire in smaller separate LED panels/strips each on their own switch. This can give you a reading light on each side and/or a vent light with multiple steps of brightness and better power efficiency.

I did my vent light in 2 steps so it's either 1/2 or full brightness depending on one or two switches being on but if you want more control you could easily do more element-switch pairs just don't blind yourself with too much light.

The third switch turns the thermostat on and off.

I am afraid to wire two switches to one light you need switches with three connectors not two. Easy to draw hard to explain in words. Have a look at http://users.wfu.edu/matthews/courses/p ... esTut.html . They talk 120v but the same circuit layout works with a 12v light and battery.
