Ohhh...I apologize for not coming back here for so long, but I thought I had this covered in another thread.

No, the diagram is kind of wrong.

The hot wires have to go on the copper bus, directly to the left of the breakers. If they go directly on the breakers on the right side as indicated in the above diagram, where the thin indicator lead wires are now connected, they'll fry those indicators.

Ira, if you put the hot wires going to your loads on the bus, you've just bypassed the breaker..the bus is hot from the top power breaker by a wire going to the cooper bus on the left side of the breakers..the right side of the breaker is where you hook your load too..when the breaker trips, the indicator light goes out..
but what do i know about electricity.. :?

Jim is correct...if you put your appliance hot wire(black) to the bus you have bypassed the breaker...the appliance hot wire(black) goes to the same place the small red wires are going on the far right...all that red wire is doing is reading juice thru the breaker to power the led indicators...the hot wire(black) going to the right has no effect on the led indicators

Oy, oy, oy. So this guy didn't know what the hell he's talking about.

Okay--I'm gonna follow Madjack's last diagram EXACTLY. But what's that copper bus for anyway?

We're 100% sure about this, right guys? That LAST diagram?

I'm printing it out right now, and I kind of know an electrican who goes to my lunch bar. I've been riding around with the panel for a week now, looking to catch up with him. So as soon as I see him, out comes Madjack's diagram and the panel.

If he says something different, I'm STILL doing it your way.

Everyone says he's a lousy electrician.

Thanks for hanging in there with me, guys. I'm a sponge ready to absorb, but as you can see, I absorbed some crap from someone else.

And Steve--no 12 volt. This has given me ENOUGH headaches!

Ira, the copper bus delivers power to the breakers...that power comes from the main breaker at the top(second breaker), that power then flows thru the breakers and to your fixtures/appliances/receptacles which are connected to the same side as the red wires which go to the led indicator lights

God bless you. Saturday, the fun begins.

Actually, it KIND of begins, You see...

I can't afford to go for the 50 bucks right now for the adapter I need to convert my marine shore power unit that I mounted on the exterior of the TD andis the source for the panel, the adapter that converts it to a standard 3-prong extension cord.

I would ask my wife for the money, but she would start this long, totally ridiculous discussion, sometimes an argument, about how if I didn't go to the BAR so often, I would have the money for this.

Have you ever heard anything so stupid in your LIFE?

But I'll figure out how to get that gelt. (For you goyem, gelt means money.)

Also, since the box won't sit inside the wall with its surface flush with the inside wall...especially with that shore feed unit there...I have to construct some kind of open-back framing/box for it, maybe on a hinge so I can easily gain access to its guts. Then I'll mount it on the wall, and although it'll stick out, I'll try to make it look cool doing so.
Here we go again!

Very funny. I'm gonna die tomorrow and these guys are living it up.

Actually, I'll only die if I have 50 bucks available credit somewhere to buy the adaptor I need, or if my wife takes pity on me and gives me the money.

Maybe if I tell her there's a risk of death, she'll give me the money.

Ira,
Mention the life insurance is paid up, that should loosen the purse strings.

That won't help:

When I die, the incredible fortune from the Ira estate goes into a trust for the kids.

I didn't want to give my wife any motive to hasten my departure from this earth.

(I know that you Scott, and others here, get it--but for the rest, that's just a joke! I'm actually leaving everything in my estate to the Budwieser Foundation! They're building a new museum, and they're gonna name a wing after me!)
