Mounting roof-top AC onto wall?

Can a roof-mount style rv air conditioner be mounted vertically on a wall without ruining the air conditioner?

I would doubt it because of the refrigerant or oils requirement to be basically level. For example, if you were to tip an AC unit or a refrigerator on it's side, you need to let it sit for 24 hours for the oils and stuff to settle back down. Perhaps someone else with more knowledge will step in and confirm or correct my opinion.
Now where I could be wrong might be related to the top type units being somewhat like an automobile unit which can be at different angles.

That was my thought, but since I don't know anything about rv units. I figure someone here will be able to give a definitive yes or no.
