Any capacity differences in 15 amp and 20 amp inlets (?)

Is there any load carrying capacity difference in the internal metal parts of the 15 amp inlet vs. the 20 amp inlet? They look to be exactly the same except for the one plug that is turned 90 degrees in the 20 amp hardware. Is there any need to buy the special hardware for a 20 amp inlet if your total load will always be less than 20 amps but maybe a little over 15 amps (assuming 12 ga wiring on both sides of the inlet)?

Let me add a few more.

The standard 15 amp "outlet" will not accept a #12 wire as a plug in, the wire must be looped around the side screw, which on a #12 is a PIA.

On the 20 amp outlet it's designed to accept (8) wires stripped 1/2 " under 4 screw plates.

Besides the outlet comes in TR version and WR - combined, tamper resistant & water resistant approved

All this protection for only $6.79 each outlet will surely let you sleep soundly at night, while operating continously with a 20 amp load.
