I bought a PD 4135 converter/charger, it came with a 40 amp fuse the #1 DC fuse slot.
I tried calling the company but they were already closed.
My question is does the 40 amp fuse get removed after the initial startup then get replaced with another fuse not to exceed 30 amps?
Below is what is says in the owners manual. I don't understand what it means.
I got the DC side all wired up and gave it juice. Everything worked. Now do I remove the 40 amp fuse?
Thanks for any help.
REVERSE BATTERY PROTECTION CIRCUIT
If a battery is accidentally hooked up backwards, the converter will be protected. An easily accessible ATC
type fuse will blow when a battery is connected in reverse. Replace with same type and rating.
Amp/Model # of fuses Fuse size
35 l 40 (amps)
The DC Section:
The DC panel features 6 branch positions rated up to 30A for accessories. Each branch has an LED to
indicate which fuse has blown. See product labeling for actual DC fuse position ratings.
CAUTION
FOR CONTINUED PROTECTION AGAINST RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRICAL
SHOCK, REPLACE ONLY WITH SAME TYPE AND RATING FUSE.
