I just ordered this power center because it fits my budget and seems to have decent reviews. I have also read some issues of reliablity and i am starting to second guess the buy. I almost bought the pd4045 but thought i could save some money.

You've already paid for it; so, it's too late now. Anyway, you'll probably be okay. They were having some problems a few years back but I haven't heard of much lately. My first one failed; but, its replacement has been doing fine for the last 3 years (Knock on wood).

I have heard of a number of WAFCO problems on a number of the RV forums I am on so I am guessing it is a continuing problem. There was one thread where the individual was able to replace as I remember a faulty component.

Thats good news that the components are replaceable or repairable. I have no problems resoldering any joints or connections if needed. I would just hate to be on the road and something happen. I guess ill throw a soldering iron in the toolbox for just in case

The soldering iron won't do much good without a schematic. Better to bring some wire, crimps, and clip leads so you can bypass the entire unit if it fails. As mine did, in the middle of a camping trip. I sent mine in for warranty repair, which took 4 weeks, then I tested and reinstalled it. It failed again on the very next trip.

I replaced it with a PD4045 and have had no troubles in the three years it has been in place.

Yeah i called the vendor and canceled the order and will be ordering the pd4045 when the return comes through. I know anything can happen with any item but the wfcos have definately had some problems and i wanna get the best i can afford its only about 50 bucks more. I think i did the right thing.
