Used 160w panels...is this worth it?

There's a local ad for 160w panels for $80 each

The price seems right but is this a good value?

What can I do to test them or find out if they work up to specification?

What should I ask the vendor?

I might need to react quickly but I haven't sat down to calculate my charging needs. This might be a cart before
The horse decision. Getting more power than I need 'just in case'

Roof mounting space is not an issue. I have a Uhaul type box truck
With a 16' box. Plenty of real estate up there

If you can fill the available space at that price go for it.

Bring a healthy but 30-50% depleted 12V battery and a solar controller that shows detailed performance info, panel output and charging separately.

I like Victron' MPPT SmartSolar line, but need these panel specs to choose the right size.

Voc = open-circuit volts
Imp = rated current amps


You can buy new seconds at that price in Florida, it's shipping kills you. Obviously must be a quality make and look as new, no tiny cracking, cloudy surface etc. Why are they being replaced?

Paying $80 for a 160 watt solar panel seems like a great deal. I bought a Grape Solar 160 watt pane for $229 over a year ago. Home Depot sells a 180 watt Grape Solar panel for $258

FWIW...I'm in minneapolis and have a trip to Columbus Ohio coming up the first week of August. Later in August I'm going to dallas. I'd be up for A group buy and take on the delivery role for a small spiff
