Anyway, you're right, it was about 50 degrees here too, almost too cold to go out and work on my TD. Looking at TomS' snow pictures today I agree with Tom, I too could see enough from the window.

Steve :D

Ira and Steve C.,
I just came in from working in my non-heated garage where it is balmy 28 degrees. My lousy Gorilla Glue is lick trying to squeeze molasses through a hypodermic needle. I kept fogging up my glasses with my own breath. Fifty degrees, I'd be out there in a tank top and shorts. Now the Northeast, those poor folks have it rough (except for Tom who's wife shovels the snow for him). That is some crumby weather.

I hope you guys don't get frost bite on your fruit.

43 degrees this morning and FREEZING, and we're gonna get to the 30s tonight!

How do you guys up there DO it!?

Why, it was so cold this morning, I couldn't take my usual 6AM swim in my luxurious 12' above ground pool that's filled with dead mosquitoes because the pump hasn't been turned on in a month. (I'm trying to develop a new life form in there, my own version of the primordial soup.)

Anyway, what the heck is a VOM, and how will it change my life?

Ira-

Then there is the choice of digital or analog! I have one of each and like them both for varying purposes.

AKA: Multimeter!

Here's a couple links that might help:

http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/homemain ... teruse.php

http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_1/chpt_3/9.html

http://www.chevelles.com/tools/tl2.html

I can't think any more:

Tell me which one to buy and write a note to my wife granting your permission.

SHE sure won't give it to me.

When buying a cheap multimeter, my tip is to get one that also has 1.5v and 9v battery (cell) scales - they all do volts and ohms, but being able to quickly check batteries is a bonus.

THAT'S THE ONE I BOUGHT! REALLY CUTE!

But this weekend, I'm wiring my interior lamps and porch lamps, so don't I need something with like alligator clips to check there? Or just use 3 lengths of alligator clips, clip them to this thing, and the other end to the wires?

Ira, The polarity on the lights will not make any difference unless you are using a light that has a ground on it. If your lights are grounded then connect the green buss to the ground the black and white to the wires for the light.
Please don’t put any Alligators into the light socket, PETA will be all over you… :D
Just use the tester to check your wiring in your trailer once. Then just check the campground before you plug into it. If the tester shows that the campground is wired wrong then don’t plug the trailer in unless you use an adaptor. Just be careful your coast has had way to many power outages in the last year. :?

Regards from Dan
