Battery wire through wall or floor?

Postby 30knotwind » Mon May 20, 2019 9:10 pm

I have a battery on the tongue with the solar controller etc at the front of the interior of the trailer. The old wiring came through the wall, but I am using 10 gauge wire so the hole has to be a bit bigger.

Should I re-drill through the current hole, widening it, or should I drill down through the floor to get the wire from the solar controller to the battery? (see pictures)
Thanks!

Running wires from the underside is much better as there's less exposure to the elements and not as noticeable when you apply your sealant.
I'd plug the old hole with maybe an automotive rubber plug and some sealant.

Definitely the floor. Rose is 11 years old, and underneath you can hardly tell she's ever been out of the garage.
Holy cow, Rose is a teenager now! Done? Surely you jest. A teardrop is never "done".
