Some discussion(someone here directed me to this..don't remember who..):

After lots of research, I netted out with an IOTA DLS with IQ4 built-in. 4 stage & allows charge voltage adjustment. Seems to be working very well.

I get why it would be a good thing to have a charger cooking away while hooked up to shore power. A smart charger would cost about $60 and you could select FLA or AGM...

Educate me?

I'm on the same path. I have no Microwave/AC, so I have no requirement for 110v power. If indeed I would require, then extension cord would be my fall-back. I also do not 'Glamp' nor stay at a place more that 3-4 days before traveling on. I can easily re-charge with my B to B charger while traveling (if my solar didn't keep up).

I can only figure it if you Glamp. I only get it if you stay for longer terms at a place and require high amperage.

Tony the reason I would like the converter charger is so while hooked to shore power the converter will power all the 12v items instead of the battery and also charge the battery/s with the overflow power.

save on battery drain cycles when I have access to shore power.

That makes sense. Is this going in a teardrop?
