Battery stud connectors - extension block

Postby DoctahDeane » Fri Apr 17, 2020 1:38 pm

The deep cycle battery I bought has a removable stud (it unscrews) instead of a post. It appears to be a 1/2" bolt with washers. What I would like to set up is something connected to that bolt that would offer up a post of the size you have in the junction box for trailer lights with a wing nut, so that I could connect something like the battery monitor in the galley, directly. Finding the right one seems to be all about putting in the right words in an Amazon search. "Stud" gets me much closer than "terminal" and I *think* the post I envision for the wing nut is 1/4". This would be much easier if the local auto part stores and hardware stores were open for browsing, instead of just curb side pickup. Any suggestions appreciated.

Since I'll be running back to the fuse block form the battery, I guess it's only the battery monitor that needs to connect to the battery - at least for now. If there is an easier (safe) way and anyone has a suggestion that would be great. I'm probably overthinking this.

The bolt approach is superior.

Never seen anything not easily re-terminated.

An adapter would just be less reliable, add complexity and resistance

Those are for auto batteries with posts.

And I would not go cheap Chinese for such components

This looks pretty good, my uncle might need one as well. I'll just finish installing the wiring and led light bar on the truck and I'll show this to him.
