wiring a vent fan

Postby Aaron Coffee » Tue Jun 02, 2020 7:53 pm

I installed a vent fan that I salvaged out of a motor home. It has been so long since I removed it from the motorhome I forgot what wires hooked to what. I have a black wire and a white wore coming out of the fan. Does it matter which hooks to power and which to ground since the fan in reversible. I removed the stickers saying in and out and painted the bezel, so that is no help.

Thanks
Aaron

Is there a brand name and/or model on the fan anywhere that you can google?

I've tested things like this on an old motorcycle battery with just enough power. Just did it on my radiator fan that I removed from the bike. Black was positive and white was negative. I've never heard the fan run so I wanted to make sure that it did.
