Wiring and grounding

Anything electric, AC or DC

Postby Nitetimes » Fri Jun 02, 2006 10:19 pm

I found 2 styles in there, the usual round one is CAT #5278-C
the one you are looking for that will fit a single gang box is CAT #5278-CWP
Any electric supply store that deals with Leviton should be able to order it for you. Check the $ before you order tho, Leviton isn't always cheap.

BTW - They call it a "Power Inlet Recepticle"

EDIT: apparently they won't allow hot linking and use popup windows to showcase products....

Ah that is probably the reason I couldn't copy the pictures directly.
Sneeky! The inlets are actually pictured on the first page in the left corner. If you go to the box stores and ask, you can see them in person. :)

Things make more sense to me when I can flip them over and get a good look at them.
size=18][/size] Edit: Box store here don't carry, so I will check for RV centers.

It looks like Leviton does indeed make what you are looking for that fits in an standard wall box. Go to their website and look for cat. number Catalog #: 15378-CWP. I am putting that on my hardware list to get when the time comes.

This is a picture of the "male flanged receptacle" Chuck posted in another thread. It is $11.16.

Leviton doesn't make a 20amp receptacle and it seems campgrounds are 20amp. For those who don't know a 15amp will not do for this purpose. Leviton makes a 30amp but it is a waisted cost.

no need to apologize :D , I just prefer to not register to view websites ;)
I wasn't able to locate the pictures of the inlets, could you link directly to them?

I hate sites that screw over their users, serve the content dang it. Let me decide how to view it.

Anyways here is the 5278-CWP

And the 5278-C

Commandant Louis Joseph Lahure has a singular distinction in military history - he defeated a navy on horseback. Occupying Holland in January 1795, the French continental army learned that the mighty Dutch navy had been frozen into the ice around Texel Island. So Lahure and 128 men simply rode up to it and demanded surrender. No shots were fired.

 Good job Melvin,

However even at wholesale with UPS the Leviton is more expensive than the Mcmasters
http://www.Mcmasters.com
and it is only 15amps. If you pull 20amps through a 15amp inlet the inlet will eventually be the weak link and eventually have a melt down. Maybe just a small one but still a melt down. The point I am making is if you use the 15amp Leviton never pull more than 15amps through it.

Happy building
