Here are a couple pictures of the chuck box that one of my friends bought an arts and crafts show. We take it on all our group camping trips. I don't know the dimensions or have plans, but it is at least 12 inches deep so you can maybe get an idea how big it is.

I like that green box- the fold up extra storage with the paper towel is awesome.

It kind of reminds me of the chair that becomes a step ladder. I think it was designed by Ben Franklin.

We made this one to certain specs, then got a new stove. Now, at the bottom where the stove used to be, we have our cast iron griddle and a skillet (among other things). This thing is HEAVY - takes two to lift it empty. It's on a couple of sawhorses when camping. Dimensions are roughly 31"W X 18"D X 24"H.

Naturally, after using it for a couple of years, there are things in the design I'd change. I think the thing I'd change most is not having to use it, i.e., owning a cargo conversion with a galley.

Just an eyeball guess 26 to 28 " wide 36 to 42 tall and the 12" deep was given in the text

Unfortunately I don't have the green box at my house. But guessing it's probably about 20"-21" across and it's maybe 30" tall. This is by estimating how wide the paper towel holder part is (you couldn't fit two rolls of paper towels side by side) and by the blue rubbermade bin and the coleman cooler near by.

It's got a lot of good little feature and would probably work in the galley of a teardrop too!

I have a group of 4 close friends that I've known for 20+ years and we always go camping together and when this box was bought we said that it will be like those bottles of wine that a group of friends keeps and is passed around as everybody dies and the last one alive gets it. There's a word for that but I don't remember it.

Next time I'm at their house, I'll try and remember to measure it.

You probably can't see it real well but this was the only picture I could find of ours. And it's packed away for the season. We've used this box for 20 years and had may coons and even bears try to get into it to no avail!
We just made a box all glued and nailed(angled on front so it would fit behind the seat of the van without wasting space in the van) Then we cut off the angled side...then the top...then attached hinges and partitions. then wala' filled it with crap. haha

My Dad built one many many years ago.It was sized to fit in the rear of our station wagon(if you know what a station wagon is you're officially old) It had a slope to the front and carried everything we needed for a weekend(5 kids 2 adults and the cooking gear).It would make a neat design for a SUV,but would have to be sized/shaped to fit the space of your vehicle.
You might build it to fit your(planned) teardrop then boly it in as a galley.
