Hurricane season again, is everyone ready?

Postby mikeschn » Tue Aug 08, 2006 4:21 am

Hurricane season has been off to a slow start, but we are quickly moving into the busiest time of the year for hurricanes. Is everyone ready with their new teardrops?

I had to ask because I dreamed about hurricanes last night. :?

You might want to ease up on that lemonade. :tipsy:

Teardrop is ready. Have the plywood cut and prefitted for the windows. I will probably stay unless one is predicted to be a Cat 3 or greater.

Hurricanes, big deal, plenty of warning. All depends what Category it is and direction it is moving. I am not going to sweat them anymore. Why worry about something you have no control over at all. Just get the heck out of the way and pick up the pieces and move on. Al though it did piss me off watching my new teardrop build tumble across the yard. It actually did me a favor in retrospect when I finally went back to work on it for the North meets the South. So things happen for a reason

After living in Gulf Shores and watching 3 come through I just up and moved north a cpl hundred miles. However I still have my 3 generators,
8-6 gallon gas cans and camper ready to hook up and go again. Just can't afford to fill up the gas cans anymore after Ivan. Still have 2 cases of MRE's left over from that to.

When did you dream this would happen as I am gonna be on coast again this weekend?
Meet you at camp

No hurricanes here, but we had some major storms which made it necessary to evacuate parts of the city. Much water damage. I'm not sure if we have been declared a disaster area or not, but it was bad for a while. I couldn't make it in to work and we shut down parts of the border off and on for a day or two. Did I say, I live in a desert?

Heckuva deal gettin' a year to 18 mos' rain in a week, ain't it?
Some guys from our TxDOT office were deployed to help clean up in El Paso.
Y'all got flooded, Amarillo got rain, San Angelo got rain ...

I wonder if God's trying to tell us something hereabouts?

It got pretty weird here. It looked like New Orleans down in the Upper Valley. People lost a lot of stuff. We have many New Orlean "refugees" living here right now and I bet they sh*t themselves over last week!

All I lost was some electricity in my living room due to some water on my lines. Can't find the exact problem right now. My pool flooded-twice! I neglected to put drainage pipes in my backyard when I rebuilt it...! A

All of which has not kept me from thinking about my next road trip .........!

Yea, I had to throw the name in since the indescriptive user name. No problem though!

Conspiracy? No way. Act of G*d, I say! We are in "different" times.
