Techni Ice - WONDERFUL!

We first saw Techni Ice a few months ago at the San Diego Boat Show. We didn't purchase it then, but really thought it was a good idea. So, fast forward. Two weeks ago we purchased 12 Techni Ice sheets off of Ebay (great winning price, 12 for $20 including shipping). Followed the directions included and froze them. Used them for the first time this weekend in our Coleman Xtreme Cooler. Let me just say...WE LOVE THIS PRODUCT! They stayed FROZEN, kept everything COLD, no soggy food, kept ice (which we had in a ziplock bag) for drinks completely frozen (no water). Keep in mind, these are RE-USEABLE. So a quick wipe down (per directions) and back into our chest freezer they went when we returned home on Sunday. If you haven't, check out TECHNI ICE, you'll be happy you did.

Sounds very cool! I do NOT like having a soggy ice chest, and was thinking of picking up a bunch of those Blue Ice thingies.... is the Techni Ice better than the Blue Ice? Your price doesn't sound too bad either.

Is this not available in stores?

Who was the seller you purchased from on E-Bay?

Did you go camping and not update your blog? I am camping vicariously through you until my trailer is finished.

Thanks for the tip. I bought a 6 pack of 'em from your seller. I'd been looking for something like this for a while.

Tricia, I took your work for it and bought some too. If many more buy, you should get a kick back. :money:

I bet we are all bidding against each other on these. The shipping to Canada just kills any bargins I might find on eBay so I guess I will wait until the next boat show and hope they have some.

If you search on eBay there's another seller....and shipping to Canada is $10.00 and that's for 13 sheets....But they don't combine shipping.

They keep running auctions, 4 or 5 at a time.... I'll keep bidding till I get some (in my price range....)

I camp for long periods so the ice packs would not do me much good. I have a large cooler which I put two smaller coolers inside. I've kept ice for up to 10 days this way. If I add one bag a day it will keep cold indefinately.

well after another camping trip and coming home with inches of melted ice, having to clean off the containers because of some macaroni dressing that got leaked into the water, and having to clean out the ice chest... I'm ready to buy some Techni Ice !!!!

I saw a very similar product that Rayvillian (Gary & Trudy) had got from somewhere, same look and about the same price I think but it was a white plastic sheet and said it was what they pack seafood in to ship it.
Trudy had frozen meats at the bottom of the cooler and the meat and the ice sheet was still frozen solid after four days.

I'm getting ready to buy the Techni Ice from this seller, mrsawl....

TELL ME --- Is the Techni Ice the same as far as how long it stays solid? About 4 days ?

Thanks !!!! and Kajamelu4 if you read this, I'll save three sheets out of my lot for you!

So..... what about the
blue ice thingys??
How do they compare??

Edit: ok, I just read the "link" .... am not really excited about cranking my freezer down to "max cold" ... can anyone provide "real life" experiences with this product?

Thanks in advance.
