Mamma need a new pair of shoes

While planning my build and trying to decide what goes where, I started to wonder about shoes. Or more specifically where do they go when you get inside. When tent camping we always took our shoes off. We stored then just inside the door. But at the end of the weekend the tent always had dirt inside. No real surprise there. Even in campgrounds with our popup there is always some dirt in the camper. So with a TD you take your shoes off before you get in and then do what with them? Store them inside and you have brought the dirt in. Leave them outside and they get carried off by rabid squirrels or some nasty crawly stingy thing crawls inside. What do you guys do?

I like the idea of a bin underneath the tear but I found a little nylon shoe insert that are part of a bigger closet organizer sold at Ikea. Easy to fold, easy to wipe out if dirty. Right now the plan is to store my Keen sandals in them. Most of my camping will be in warmer weather so if my sandals look good they'll go there. If it's been a wet day then my shoes or dirty sandals will go in a bin underneath but a cheap pair of flipflops will go in the insert in case I need to make a quick dash somewhere........................if I need to leave the tear in a hurry I don't want to waste time getting to the bin underneath. There are so many low profile sandals or slip ons sold now I think it's a good way to go.

Black nylon shoe box(sold in red too) sold at Ikea in corner.

A 3'x5' scrap of indoor/outdoor carpet or a big door mat will make this chore a lot easier no matter what route you take. You can take your shoes off and step in with just your socks without getting the socks dirty. It's never been a problem for me. I leave 'em just under the trailer, though a bucket would also work.

If you get a plastic "shoebox" , go for the larger "sweater box" size...
